We have a little back story to tell you…
My journey hasn’t been a straight line. Back in 2008, when the economy took a tumble, I had to close my beloved gift and quilt shop and say goodbye to my cozy log home near Yosemite. It was a season of reinvention, a time to piece life back together one stitch at a time. Through it all, sewing became my sanctuary — a place of freedom, creativity, and pure joy.
The fabrics I work with seem to speak to me, guiding each design in unexpected and beautiful ways. I may start with a simple idea, but before long I’m on a completely new creative path — and that’s where the magic happens.
One of my greatest passions is upcycling. I love breathing new life into forgotten pieces — thrifted treasures, vintage linens, ribbons, and lace all find their way into my studio here in the serene Pacific Northwest. Every item I create is one-of-a-kind, infused with character, charm, and often a touch of boho spirit (those hand-stitched flowers on denim are my absolute favorite!).
What drives me most is knowing that each creation becomes part of someone else’s story. When you wear a Curious Orange Cat piece, you’re not just wearing clothing — you’re carrying a little piece of reinvention, resilience, and artistry.
